"40 per cent job loss in the western world over the next five years"

That's quite a startling prediction! It comes from here...

http://www.stuff.co.nz/business/industries/70673026/Sir-Peter-Talley-predicts-grim-future-for-jobs-education

He's even grimmer about Australia, where he said he'd been told the job losses would be 60 percent. That's from the audio here...

http://www.radionz.co.nz/national/programmes/businessnews/audio/201764873/more-change-for-business-expected-talley

Those numbers are hard to believe. But if anywhere near true and there's not much to replace those lost jobs, it would seem it's time for a basic income. As if jobs are going to be mostly replaced by robotics, it would seem humanity as a whole should reap some of the benefits, not just a few at the top.
