TOP, the new political party in NZ, is finding a UBI a hard-sell, I think. They're doing it piecemeal though, their policy originally being for those on old-age pensions (for whom it'll be a drop in income) and for parents of young children.
And then this week they decided those aged 18 to 23 should get it too... My guess would be that wouldn't have happened if they were doing better than just 1% in the polls! I doubt the young are quite that easily bought, but we'll see.
